concept
Cities are growing latitudinally instead of longitudinally, thereby leading urban sprawl and its long and extensive highways to spread across miles of land and cause irreversible damage to the environment.
>
Urban sprawl is the rapid expansion of the geographic extent of cities and towns, often characterized by low-density residential housing, single-use zoning, and increased reliance on the private automobile for transportation
In order to continue to meet the demand for space, a skyscraper method of growth can be employed to maximize the number of people that can fit onto 1 acre of land. This project compares the amount of area that can be saved by having cities grow vertically rather than horizontally. By downloading the vertical house stacks of streets, blocks, and neighborhoods, viewers would be able to physically see the difference in available space.

The physical houses are made virtual, then inserted back into the "physical" space in augmented reality form.
